The timeline infographic starts off in 13,000 BC when cavemen used shells or hollow rocks to light their caves and goes all the way through to 1927 when Oleg Losev published original research on LEDs. Sales of CFL light bulbs plummet after surge in popularity of LED Bulbs

Unsurprisingly manufacturers have turned their backs on the outdated CFL lightbulbs now. Retailers across the industry have reported hugely increased sales of new technology LED bulbs leaving the original energy saving light bulbs rendered as useless.  CFL lightbulbs were renowned for being slow to warm up, horrifically ugly and much larger than the original incandescent and now LEDs. With supplies of incandescent light bulbs quickly about to run out LED lighting is soon going  be the only option for most households. What are LED's? - LED Bulbs

Simply a light-emitting diode (LED) is a semiconductor device that emits light when an electric current is passed through it. LED Bulbs are paving the way of future lighting around the world.  Light is produced when the particles that carry the current combine with the semi conductor material. Most LEDs are made from a semi-conducting material called gallium arsenide phosphide.
